Tattoos are a permanent alteration to your body, so it’s really important that you feel informed and confident in your decision.
Skin isn’t like paper — it’s a living organ, and just like we do, tattoos will age over time. How well a tattoo ages depends on several factors, including the size, level of detail, and placement of the design. I’ll always advise you on what will work best for longevity.
Things like sun exposure, improper aftercare, and general health can affect the final result, so it’s important to look after your tattoo not just during healing, but long after it’s healed.
Older tattoos can often be reworked or recoloured, and unwanted tattoos may be covered with a new design (cover-ups) or removed via laser treatment, depending on the piece.
It’s essential that you’re honest with your tattoo artist about any medical conditions, allergies, or if you’re prone to fainting. You should also take time to review your artist’s portfolio, reviews, and examples of healed work to make sure their style is the right fit for you.
Most people describe the sensation as a vibrating scratch against the skin. While it isn’t usually overly painful — especially with modern tattoo machines and techniques — everyone’s pain tolerance is different.
The length of the session, the placement, and the design itself can all affect how it feels. Some areas of the body are naturally more sensitive than others, so the experience will always be individual and based on your comfort level.
If you’re considering numbing cream, it’s important to speak to the studio or your artist in advance and check the FAQs before your appointment. This allows us to advise you properly, ensure it’s suitable for your tattoo, and explain how (and when) it should be used, as not all numbing products or methods are appropriate.
Pricing is based on the size, detail, and placement of your tattoo. I charge a fixed rate of £100 per hour, and you’ll only ever pay for the time spent actually tattooing the skin.
There are no hidden costs — consultations, design time, stencilling, adjustments, and breaks are all free of charge. This means we can take the time needed to get everything just right, without rushing, so you get the best possible result.
The easiest and most efficient way to book is to message the studio online or via whatsapp.
To confirm your booking, we’ll need your full name, phone number, email address, references, and a deposit.
Please note that appointments aren’t confirmed until the deposit is received, so clear communication during the booking process is really important.
Once you’re booked in, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email with all the details and location of your appointment. Occasionally this can land in spam, so please remember to check your junk folder just in case.
Not sure if I’m the right artist for your idea? No worries at all! Drop us a message and we can chat through your design and style ideas. From there, we’ll be happy to point you towards the best artist for the job — or liaise with a specific artist if you already have someone in mind.
Yes!
I’m very lucky to have a lot of loyal clients, which often means I’m booked around 2–3 months in advance. I usually recommend getting booked in through the studio as early as possible.
For larger projects, we can sometimes make use of one of my rarer shorter appointment slots to design and plan your tattoo in advance. That way, when you come in for your first full-day sitting, we can start tattooing straight away and maximise your time in the chair.
If you’re keen to get a head start on your project, you can also request to be added to my cancellation list. This means I can contact you if a last-minute space becomes available due to a cancellation or no-show.
We might even be able to offer you an appointment with another artist in the studio if their style suits what you’re looking for!
• Make sure you’re well rested, well hydrated, and have eaten beforehand.
• Shower before your appointment — good hygiene is really important.
• Charge your electronics and bring something to keep you entertained (a book, music, or a film).
• Snacks are always a good idea! Complimentary tea and coffee are available in the studio, but for longer sessions or if you prefer specific drinks, bringing your own food and refreshments is recommended.
Comfort comes first — fashion second. We’ve even had clients turn up in PJs, slippers, and a blanket, so you won’t be judged!
• Loose, baggy clothing is best. Tight clothes can distort the skin or restrict blood flow during your session.
• Consider the placement of your tattoo when choosing what to wear. For example, if you’re getting a back piece, a t-shirt may mean being topless — a button-up shirt worn backwards is often a great alternative.
• If you’re unsure what to wear, just ask — we’re always happy to advise.
• It’s best to avoid white or favourite clothes, as ink can stain and it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Of course!
Touch-ups are free of charge for tattoos done by our artists, provided you follow our recommended aftercare instructions (see the Aftercare FAQ). We want your tattoo to look absolutely perfect (after all, it's a representation of our work!) So if a touchup is required, we will provide a free touch-up session so long as it is booked within six months of your original tattoo date.
Not all tattoos need a touch-up, in fact most won't! If you are not sure then feel free to send us a message or visit the studio for advice, and for the best results, please respect the aftercare instructions!
Fingers/toes, hands/feet tattoos are areas that we generally discourage. Healing in these areas can be problematic due to the properties of the skin (as well as the placement), and as such these tattoos are not eligible for a free touch-up session.
For more details please contact the shop.
When should I request a touch up?
• Allow time for the skin to settle down to a more normal condition before having your touch ups (1-5 months, but no more than 6 months).
If the tattoo is older (e.g. 3 years old) you may wish to opt for a rework due to the natural ageing process of the tattoo. Reworks (and touch-ups of other artists tattoos are charged at the normal hourly rate)
In the UK, you must be 18 years or older to get a tattoo and provide a valid form of photo ID. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Tattooing anyone under the age of 18 is illegal, even if they have parental consent.
All design/tattoo appointments require a non-refundable deposit. This secures your time and covers preparation and design work.
If you need to reschedule, just let us know — life happens!
• With 7 days’ notice or more, your deposit will be transferred to a new appointment date.
• If you cancel or reschedule within 7 days of your appointment, for any reason, the deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required to secure another booking.
When deposits are forfeited
Your deposit will also be lost in the following situations:
🕓 Late arrivals
If you arrive 30 minutes or more late, this will be treated as a no-show. Artists often have multiple clients per day, and your slot may no longer be usable.
🥵 Sunburnt skin
We cannot tattoo sunburnt skin. Sunburn is trauma to the skin and tattooing over it would cause further damage and poor healing. If you attend your appointment sunburnt, the deposit will be forfeited.
✏️ Design work not proceeding
If a design has been drawn up and you then decide not to go ahead with the tattoo, the deposit is retained to compensate the artist for their time and work.
🤡 Harassment or abusive behaviour
Any verbal or physical harassment of staff or other clients will not be tolerated. You will be asked to leave and your deposit will be lost.
Gift vouchers
💸 Gift vouchers are non-refundable, but they are transferable. You’re welcome to re-gift or sell them on if you no longer wish to use them.
We do not charge for design work as long as you have a clear concept in mind go ahead with the tattoo as intended.
However, if you book in with a specific idea and then completely change the concept (for example, booking in for a rose and later deciding you’d like an elephant instead), a design fee may be applied.
Designing a tattoo takes a lot of time and care, so we kindly ask that you’re confident in your concept before booking.
This helps us keep things fair for both the artist and our clients — thank you for understanding 🙏🏻
Yes! However there are a few important factors to consider.
It’s essential that a scar is fully healed and matured before tattooing over it. Healing time varies depending on the type, size, and depth of the scar, and can range from months to several years.
General healing guidelines:
• Keloid scars: wait at least 1 year
• Deeper or larger scars: wait 3–5 years
• Surgical scars: wait a minimum of 12 months
A consultation is always required so the artist can assess the skin and advise on the best approach for your tattoo.
Please note that scar tissue can be more sensitive than normal skin, so tattooing over scars may feel more uncomfortable. If you have concerns about pain, please refer to the numbing cream section of our FAQs and speak to the studio or your artist in advance so we can advise you properly.
